maybe your mind.

it could mean not eating for 3 or 4 days.
it could mean freezing on a
park bench.
it could mean jail,
it could mean derision,
mockery,
isolation.
isolation is the gift,
all the others are a test of your
endurance, of
how much you really want to
do it.
and you’ll do it
despite rejection and the
worst odds
and it will be better than
anything else
you can imagine.

if you’re going to try,

there is no other feeling like
that.
you will be alone with the gods
and the nights will flame with
fire.

Si vas a intentar, recorre todo el camino.
De otra forma ni siquiera comiences.

Esto puede significar perder novias,
esposas,
parientes,
trabajos y,
quizá tu cordura.

Recorre todo el camino.
Esto puede significar no comer por 3 o 4 días.
Esto puede significar congelarse en la banca de un parque.
Esto puede significar la carcel.
Esto puede significar burlas, escarnios, soledad...
La soledad es un regalo.

Los demás son una prueba de tu insistencia, o
de cuanto quieres realmente hacerlo.
Y lo harás,
a pesar del rechazo y de las desventajas,
y será mejor que cualquier cosa que hayas imaginado.

Si vas a intentar, recorre todo el camino.
No hay otro sentimiento como ese.
Estarás a solas con los dioses
